Sentences returned in 20th District Court

CAMERON—Five persons drew sentences last week in 20th District Court action, according to Prosecutor Kerry Spears, who listed dispositions:

• Brittany Dawn Smith, 18, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to a possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), five years deferred adjudication probation, successful completion of Central Texas Treatment Center, $140 restitution.

• Deborah Ann Shivers, 23, Rockdale, was adjudicated guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, sentenced by District Judge Ed Magre to a 10-year probated prison term.

• Charles Lopez Sr., 58, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to a lesser offense of deadly conduct, two years deferred adjudication probation, including substance abuse evaluation and any recommended treatment, $500 fine.

• Michael Heath Wright, 37, Cameron, pleaded true to violating probation conditions for possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), eight-month state jail term, $397 court costs.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
