Currey

Services for Novelene Currey, 81, of Rockdale were held Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with Rev. Brandon Navarre of Forest Grove Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery near Rockdale.

Mrs. Currey died Thursday, May 21, at Renaissance Villa in Rockdale.

A Rockdale resident for the past 63 years, she was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Milam County to James Arthur Caffey and Bessie Rolan Caffey.

She married Milton R. (Jim) Currey on July 6, 1946, in Rockdale.

Mrs. Caffey was a homemaker and attended Forest Grove Christian Church in the Forest Grove community.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dean Caffey.

Survivors are her husband, Jim Currey of Rockdale; a son, Michael Ray Currey and wife Deborah of Elgin; two daughters, Marcia Bastow and husband Jack, Nancy Bell and husband Doug, all of Rockdale; three brothers, Buddy Caffey of Temple, Byron Caffey of Houston, Alton Caffey of Rockdale; 12 grandchildren, Coty Prazak, Kelli Timmerman, T.J. Bell, Jessica Burns, Ashley Bell, Daniel, Matthew, James, Caleb, Gabriel and John Currey, Keith Bastow; and 10 greatgrandchildren, Lane, Tyler and Dustyn Prazak, Garrett Timmerman, Gracey and Brayden Burns, Kaitlyn Bell, Sharee Bundrick, Kiersten and Laynie Bastow.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Dan Currey, Matthew Currey, James Currey, Caleb Currey, Gabriel Currey and John Currey.

Honorary pallbearer was T.J. Bell.
