Reunions keep us connected, worth the time

Summer is reunion and homecoming time. Rockdale Homecoming is this Sunday at the Patterson Center and a catered lunch will be served by Poor Boys. Cost of the meal is $9 and you pay at the door.

Aycock Homecoming was held last weekend and personally, we had our Doss Reunion also last weekend.

Reunions are such a good time to get together and get back in touch with the people in your lives that made you who you are, whether that be family or school connections. I know that we are so busy and sometime it is hard to fit that one more event into your schedule.

But once you have gone and reconnected with old friends and family it makes it all worthwhile. So as you make your plans to go to that next reunion or homecoming, do it with vigor and enthusiasm because who you are today is a direct result of those people and those relationships.

Jubilee Days fun

Jubilee Days went well this weekend and of course the weather was perfect. The tractor pull and BBQ cookoff was a nice addition to the event and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Good job, Rockdale Roping & Cutting Club.

Blood drive

There will be a Blood Drive at Meadowbrook Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 16 from 10- 2:30 and on Thursday, June 18 from 3:30-8:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Until next time I leave you with this: People judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold but so has a hard boiled egg.
