Monkey Run' to benefit family of child with heart problems

A "Monkey Run" to benefit the family of a newborn with severe health problems will be held June 20 at The Ranch.

Shane Douglas Ferrell, son of Neal and Ashley Farrell, was born March 23 and has been diagnosed with Tretralogy of Fallot and has already been through two heart surgeries. More medical procedures are anticipated, said Charles Starr, organizer.

Ride fee is $15 per rider or $20 with a passenger. Barbecue plates will also be sold, a 50-50 drawing and a live auction will be held. "Rider's special" is $20 with one plate or $30 with passenger and 2 plates.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with first bike out at 11 from The Ranch. Stops include Fernando's in Hare, Cy ndi's Hogg Wild in Cedar Creek, Nat's in Milano and return to The Ranch.

Also, the "Shane Farrell Fund" account has been set up at Citizens National Bank to help the family defray expenses.
