"That's what a seat belt will do for you," was the comment of State Trooper Erik Gaston as he investigated this one-vehicle accident at 9:09 a.m. Thursday on FM 908 at the CR 316 intersection. Gerald Stewart-Dykes, 22, of Rockdale, walked away from this wreck, despite the pickup coming to rest on the driver's side after rolling off the roadway on a sharp curve. He was checked over by AMR paramedics on the scene and refused transport. Gaston said the vehicle was southbound. The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department was summoned and Fire Chief Warren Matous checked out the truck damage.
