DPS troopers called to five accidents

Five accidents, including one with injuries, were investigated during the past week by DPS state troopers in the Rockdale area.

Gene Frank, 40, of Rockdale, was flown to Scott & White Hospital, Temple, after a one-vehicle accident at 12:05 a.m. Sunday on FM 487, 10.9 miles south of Cameron, according to Trooper Donald Delukie. Damages were termed extensive.

Christopher Salazar, 20, of Rockdale was treated at Little River Medical Center after an 11:50 p.m. June 16 one-vehicle accident on US 79 1.1 miles west of Milano. Trooper Broderick Sims termed damages "extensive."

A truck rig burned at 8 p.m. June 17 after a tire blowout sent it through a fence and into a field 7 miles south of Cameron on US 77, according to Delukie. He listed the driver as William Cagle of Austin.

There were no injuries when cargo on a truck rig operated by Roy Daniels, 52, of Texas City struck the Texas 36 underpass in Milano and fell on the highway at 5:20 a.m. Friday, according to Sims.

No serious injuries were reported in a 7:37 a.m. June 17 accident on FM 1712, 1.6 miles northeast of Rockdale, according to Troopr David Yarbrough.

Drivers were listed as Nathan Barrera, 26, and Debra Travis, 20, both of Rockdale

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
