FG church plans July Fourth event

FOREST GROVE NEWS
By LU SPENCE Reporter correspondent

Please remember to mark your calendars to come to Forest Grove on Saturday, July 4, for a day of celebration as we remember our country and all the freedoms we enjoy in this "good ole USA".

The festivities will begin around 10 a.m. and there will be plenty of food, games, fun and fellowship to last as long as anyone would like to stay.

Our community was very saddened this past week by the deaths of Cory Rogers and Clayton Evans.

We send our most heartfelt sympathy to the Rogers and Evans families during this most difficult time.

Lisa, Brandon, Madeline and Abbie Navarre have been enjoying the company of Susan Dearmann, Lisa's mom, of Fairfield.

Lisa had some foot surgery last week, and it is good to have her mom there to help out until Lisa "gets back on her feet".

Lanell Spence traveled to College Station for an overnight get-together with five of her high school classmates.

About 15 members of the Forest Grove family enjoyed anniversary services at San Gabriel Christian Church on Friday evening.

Several also attended some of the other services held in San Gabriel in celebration of the church's anniversary.

Several from Forest Grove also attended the community prayer service for rain on Sunday afternoon at Veterans Park in Rockdale.

We need rain so badly, and we know that God will hear and answer when the time is right.
