DPs troopers called to South Milam wrecks

No serious injuries were reported in two South Milam County accidents investigated by state troopers during the past week.

Trooper David Yarbrough said a vehicle operated by Steven Walker, 23, of Rockdale sustained moderate damage when it hit a dow at 9:50 p.m. June 24 on US 79, .1-mile west of Milano.

Extensive vehicle damage was reported at 5:10 p.m. Friday in a one-vehicle accident on FM 908 four miles east of Rockdale, according to Trooper Mark Berry. He listed the driver as Adrian Oatis, 37, of Texas City.

Thorndale police said vehicles operated by Stanley Fairchild of Thrall and Don Dickens of Taylor were in collision at 5:30 p.m. Friday at US 79 and Front Street. Damages were termed extensive to the Fairchild car and minor to the Dickens SUV.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
