Johnson

Graveside services for Gerald Glenn Johnson, 66, of Minerva will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Minerva Cemetery in Minerva.

Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, June 23, at his residence.

He was born May 1, 1943, in Cameron to Lewis Haywood Johnson and Lillie Mae Hairston.

Mr. Johnson was a lifelong Milam County resident and lived for the past 45 years in Minerva.

He was a graduate of C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Minerva.

Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was employed by Boral Industries of Rockdale as plant operator for 15 years. Formerly he was a driller with B&B Drilling of Milano and an X-ray technician for Richards Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Lewis H. Johnson; a daughter, Nicky Johnson; a son, Travis Johnson; two brothers, James and Bill Johnson; and a sister, Lillie Mae Walker.

Sur v ivors are three sons, Robert Johnson and wife Valerie, Shane Johnson and wife Jennifer, all of Minerva, and Vince Johnson and wife Laura of Pearland; 10 grandchildren, Farron, Alyssa, Adam, Levi, Taylor, Paige, Madison and Morgan Johnson, Ty and Shy-ann Trammel; his mother, Mae Johnson of Minerva; and a sister, Kathe Keller of Michigan.
