CAMERON—Funeral services for Lavada Maxine Dodd, 74, of Cameron were held Friday, June 26, 2009, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Jim Lafferty officiating. Burial followed in Little River Cemetery near Maysfield.

Mrs. Dodd died Sunday, June 21, at her home.

A retired secretary and organist for Marek-Burns-Lay well Funeral Home for over 30 years, she was born May 16, 1935, in Waco to Claude Dee and Lavada Bell (Tanner) Eddleman.

She married Earnest E. Dodd Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Mrs. Dodd had worked for Texas Farm Bureau in Waco, Scott & White Hospital in Temple, St. Edwards Hospital in Cameron and First Baptist Church in Cameron.

She was also preceded in death by a son, David Paul Dodd, and a sister, Claudia Weiss.

Survivors included three sons, Eddie Dodd Jr. of Rockdale, Thomas Dodd of Nashville, Tennessee, Daniel Dodd of Rogers; and a daughter, Jeanne Dodd Mur phy of Waco; also, nine grandchildren.
