CAMERON—Memorial services for Paul Terry Nabours, 78, of Cameron were held Monday, June 29, 2009, at Marek-Burns- Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Jim Wheeless officiating.

Mr. Nabours died Friday, June 26, in a Temple hospital.

He was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Milam County to Robert Homer and Riebe (Fisher) Nabours.

He attended C.H. Yoe High School.

Mr. Nabours served in the Merchant Marines, was owneroperator of Ben Franklin Store and was a farm implement salesman for Lely Equipment.

He married Laverne "Skeet" Thweat McElwrath in 1987.

Mr. Nabours was a member of the Horse Club.

Survivors include his wife, Skeet Nabours of Cameron; two sons, Ned McElwrath, Joseph McElwrath and wife Kimberly, all of Cameron; two brothers, Bob H. Nabours of Galveston, Kenneth Nabours of Iowa; and two sisters, Trent Hellman of Virginia, Hortense Tumlinson of Cameron; also, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
