Rockdale junior shortstop Kassie Roddam has been named to the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State softball team.

Roddam, who set a school record for stolen bases with 32 this season, was selected to the third team.

Roddam, who was named the most valuable offensive player in District 24-3A this past season, led the 12-11 Lady Tigers in seven offensive categories including average (.449), runs (19), hits (31), doubles (4), triples (2), slugging percentage (.565) and walks (9).

Cameron outfielder Kelsey DeLaRosa was a second team choice.

Thorndale senior Angel Bigan was named honorable mention in Class A as a pitcher.

Bigan was 7-3 on the mound and also hit .444 at the plate.

Also, seniors Mark Drake and Chance Betchan of the recordsetting Rockdale baseball team continue to rack up the hardware after being named to the 13th Bryan-College Station Eagle All- Brazos Valley squad.

Drake (.400 avg., 44 runs) was selected to the first team as the utility player on the strength of his performance as a pitcher, third baseman and outfielder.

Betchan led the Tigers with a .435 average and 48 RBI and was chosen for the second team.
