Bartlett

Graveside services for Ellen "OtMama" Malcik Bartlett, 89, of Rockdale will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, in IOOF Cemetery with Rev. Jack Chelf of First Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Bartlett died Sunday, July 5, at Renaissance Villa in Rockdale.

She was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Rosebud to Frank and Vlasta (Schiller) Malcik.

Mrs. Bartlett was raised in Rosebud and was a 1938 graduate of Rosebud High School.

She married Clarence Edward Bartlett on Feb. 15, 1939, in Temple.

Mrs. Bartlett had been a Rockdale resident since 1939 and was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was a bookkeeper with Prewitt Drug Store and Walker- Burnet t Pharmacy for many years.

The Bar tlet ts did a lot of traveling and a favorite winter vacation was Acapulco and Guadalajara.

For many years they opened their home to boys from the Round Rock Children's Home and this led to special lifetime friendships, including Sherry, Matt and Laura Chambers.

Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Bartlett Jr., on March 30, 1986; and a niece, Patricia Bartlett, in 1952.

Survivors are extended family members Skeet and LeJean Quinney, Gaye and Charles Bland, Kay Bow, Bo and Kathy Quinney, Clayton, Krystal and K arsy n Bland, Kyle, Meg gie and Kallen Bow, Kirk and Coy Quinney, all of Rockdale, Caryn Bland and Kolby Bow of Austin, Kevin Bow of Stephenville; an aunt, Minnie Schiller of Rosebud; and three cousins, Gary and Tabor Malcik of Rosebud and Nedra Spates of Splendora.

Pallbearers w ill be Kev in Bow, Kolby Bow, Kyle Bow, Clayton Bland, Kirk Quinney and Koy Quinney.
