Montoya

Services for Mary Montoya, 87, of Round Rock, formerly of Rockdale, were held Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Hanks officiating. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery.

Mrs. Montoya died Saturday, July 4, at Park Valley Inn Nursing Home in Round Rock.

She was born Aug. 6, 1921, in Milam County to Raymond Castillo and Guadalupe Loredo Castillo.

She married Oscar B. Montoya on Nov. 11, 1950, in Rockdale.

Mrs. Montoya was a Round Rock resident since November 2008, but lived most of her life in Rockdale.

She was a retired f lor ist, having been employed with W.T. Pearson Flower Shop, Whiteley The Florist and Love's Flowers, all in Rockdale.

Mrs. Montoya was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rockdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Oscar B. Montoya, on Oct. 21, 2001.

Survivors are two sons, John J. Montoya and wife Maelisa of Pottsboro, Oscar D. Montoya and wife Tracy of Round Rock; a daughter, Patricia M. Carrillo of Hutto; a brother, Pete Castillo of Rockdale; and two sisters, Connie Lopez and Alice Aldama, both of Rockdale; also, eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers were Anthon Montoya, Joshua Montoya, Blaine Bastow, Robert Castillo, Peter Lopez and Michael Montoya III.
