Blue Water catches up on POSGCD permit fees

Blue Water Corp. is paid in full.

The company that seeks to transport 71,000 acre-feet of Simsboro Aquifer water to the thirsty Austin-Round Rock area made a full payment of its pumping and transport fees.

Ross Cummings, Blue Water CEO, said Strategic Water Group, LLC had provided funds to help the company catch up. That investor "specializes in water projects for the long term," according to its web site.

The board agreed to end proceedings to revoke Blue Water's permits after it received the payment last Tuesday. Blue Water was in arrears on an additional 40,000 acre-feet of water. It had sought to get the district to half its fees for up-front payment on pumping and transport.

The board also:

• Permitted the Enchanted Oaks Subdivision in Burleson County for 40 acre-feet per year.

• Heard a report from a Water Resource Management Specialist on the POSGCD well inventory database and well monitoring network.

• Agreed to pursue action on several individual well violation cases.
