Thorndale Jamboree set for 7 p.m. Monday
THORNDALE—The Thorndale VFW post and Auxiliary will present its monthly Country & Gospel Music Jamboree on Monday, July 27 at the VFW Hall on FM 486 north.
Music with the house band begins at 7 p.m. and doors open at 5:30. The kitchen will serve sausage wraps, chicken salad sandwiches, chips, drinks and homemade desserts.
"Come enjoy the music, food and fellowship," said Marjorie Menzel, VFW Auxiliary president.
Milano Jamboree coming up SaturdayMILANO—The monthly Milano Country & Gospel Jamboree will be held Saturday, July 25 with all musicians welcome, Tena Galbreath, publicist, announced.

Genealogy society to meet Tuesday
Next meeting of the Milam County Genealogical Society will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28 in the Rockdale Citizens National Bank conference room, located at the rear of the bank.

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is enrolling members for the 2009- 2010 year. MOPS is open to any mother with children ages bir thkindergarten. Fees $25.
