RHS Class of 1999 holds 10th-year reunion
The RHS Class of 1999 held its 10-year class reunion Saturday, Aug. 1 at The Ranch in Rockdale. Eighty-one classmates, spouses/ dates, former classmates and guests enjoyed a social hour, a dinner prepared by The Ranch, a dance by "Last Call" and lots of visiting, according to Lance Schielack, class president.
Two group photos were taken of classmates and spouses/guests by Rockdale Signs and Photography. A short program and awards presentation were prepared by Schielack, T.J. (Burgett) Poon and Carol (Urban) LaCoure. Awards included:
"Most Changed Girl," Hope Hargrove; "Most Changed Boy," Kendall Pope; "Most Eligible Bachelor," Willie Phillips; "Most Eligible Bachelorette," Alicia Greene.
Also, "Longest Married," Linda (Zapata) Montelongo (11 years, married May 2, 1998); "Newest Married," T.J. Poon (2 years, married May 18, 2007).
Also, "Most Children," Amber (Morgan) Robinson (3); "Newest Parents," Jeremy and Kasey Collette (baby 3 weeks old, born July 12).
Also, "Traveled Fartherest," won by Alicia Greene (Alexandria, VA); "Most Interesting Job," T.J. Poon (campus minister/missionary); "Most Educated," Briana Bassler (attorney); "Artistic Award," Charles Miles (most tattoos).
Special thanks went to Amber (Morgan) Robinson, for making the program booklets and reunion invitations; Julie (Burns) Masek, for making name tags, welcoming/registering classmates and helping decorate; Kristin (Martin) Christ, for helping with the name tags and welcoming/registering classmates; Dawn (Barber-Smith) Nye, for handling the "In Memory" display table, booklets for the parents of deceased classmates and helping decorate; T.J. (Burgett) Poon and Carol (Urban) LaCoure, for awards program; Jessie Casas, for helping gather classmate addresses, helping decorate and clean up; Jacques Williams, for helping clean up; Kristi Montelongo, for helping with decorations; and Lindsay (Debault) Cleveland, for helping decorate.
Special guests were Coach Terry Pope who attended with his son Kendall Pope; Dan and Suzanne Legg (parents of deceased classmate Dusty Legg) and their daughter Lindsay and granddaughter Rian; coach James Saegert and the class' assistant principal Allen Sanders.
