Prodding him into retirement

A reception for outgoing City Manager Randy Holly (center) brought out the grins for city staffers and others preceding last Wednesday's public hearing. Friend and fellow Lions Club member Ron Montgomery brought a walking/prodding stick for Holly to use on the sheep at his ranch in his retirement. Mayor John Shoemake (L) and others got a kick out of the gift. Shoemake also presented Holly with a plaque, saying that the city manager "went above and beyond the call of duty" in helping the town straighten out some issues during his tenure.
