Four vehicles damaged in Milam rural wrecks

Four vehicles were damaged in rural accidents during the past week in Milam County, although no serious injuries were reported, according to investigating DPS state troopers.

Accidents were listed as follows:

• 10:05 a.m. Sunday, 2.3 miles south of Milano on Texas 36, driver Alejandro Nieto, 48, of Killeen, swerved to miss a squirrel, extensive damage, driver refused treatment at the scene.—Trooper Mark Berry.

• 3:15 p.m. Sunday, FM 487, .3-mile north of Rockdale, driver Maria Alonzo, 48, Buckholts, extensive damage.—Berry.

• 8:58 p.m. Monday, 4.9 miles northwest of Rockdale, FM 908, driver Jessica White, 21, Rockdale, extensive damage.—Trooper Ernest Delbosque.

• 12:29 a.m. Friday, .7-mile east of Gause, US 79, driver John Howerton, 28, of Gause hit deer.—Moderate damage.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
