Harris

Graveside services for Kenneth T. Harris, 85, of Rockdale were held Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mr. Harris died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at his residence.

He was born July 24, 1924, in Wilmington, Ohio, to Kenneth T. Harris and Minnie Bledsoe Harris.

Mr. Harris had been a Rockdale resident since 1982 and previously lived in Houston.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in South France and Central Europe.

Mr. Harris was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.

He worked as a bank teller in Louisiana, as a salesman for Nash Hardware in Fort Worth and was a frozen food salesman with Swift and Zero Frozen Foods of Houston.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Estell Harris; his second wife, Lois Harris; and a son, Timothy Hugh Harris.

Survivors are two sons, Ken Harris III and wife Betty of Dallas, Michael Harris of Rockdale; two daughters, Judi Harris Juarez of Austin, Jeanette Cross and husband Ray (Skip) of Depew, Oklahoma; a brother, Wayne Harris of Avinger; and a sister, Jean Harris Herrin of Texarkana; also, 12 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were Ken Harris III, Michael Harris, Kevin Keith, Otto Brogger and Leo Debey.
