JUST DESSERTS Manor Oaks Nursing Center hosted a "desser t hour" on Thursday, giving the public a chance to meet and greet residents and staff members at the facility. New Dollar General ups construction permit totals
A new Dollar General Store boosted city building permits for August. The new building, at 1025 W. Cameron Ave., was permitted for $545,248. Contractor is Warwick Construction. Permits for August totaled $692,922, bringing year-to-date totals to $2,185,879. Full Story

New owner eyed for Rockdale Rehab
Changes are in store for Rockdale Rehab. Beverly Luedke, current owner of Rockdale Rehab, will be "semiretiring" and Nia Lewis will take over ownership later this year. Lewis is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Texas Lutheran University. Full Story
