WATER-WISE
Susan Humble helped put on a public forum on rainwater harvesting on Thursday at the Patterson Civic Center, sponsored by the El Camino Real Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists and the City of Rockdale. Humble, pictured behind the falling water, demonstrated how much water is lost to runoff with a rain demonstration. About 50 people attended the forum, which also featured speaker Sandra McDonald and displays of several types of rain barrels, rain chains and other catchment systems. Full Story
Hunting and fishing: What's new for 2009-10
Hunting and fishing licenses for the 2009-2010 license year are on sale now. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has approved increases to license fees. Most fees will increase by five percent. Full Story
