Milano teen's love of miniature horses has her headed to national competition
On Valentine's Day 2005 then 11-yearold Madeline Jones lost her favorite gelding horse. The animal's death broke her heart, but not her love for the four-legged animals. Her mother, Jimann, didn't want her oldest child to get into horses again, but it had been her love for such a long time. Full Story

The 25th annual Kolache Festival will be held in Caldwell Saturday, Sept. 12 downtown on the courthouse square. Opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. with Czech singing and dancing. Jaripeo draws 500 to Fair Park
They came from all over, workers looking to blow off some steam and enjoy some home-style entertainment. Only "home" for them used to be south of the border. The first-ever jaripeo, Mexicanstyle rodeo, was held Saturday at Fair Park Arena and horse- and bull-riding events, plus musical entertainment, drew over 500 people. Full Story
