New Dollar General ups construction permit totals

A new Dollar General Store boosted city building permits for August.

The new building, at 1025 W. Cameron Ave., was permitted for $545,248. Contractor is Warwick Construction.

Permits for August totaled $692,922, bringing year-to-date totals to $2,185,879.

Permits through August for 2008 totaled over $30 million, which included the new school projects.

Building permits are issued at City Hall and reflect only construction in the city limits.

Permits were issued as follows:

Josefina Torres, 304 Texas, remodel and driveway; J.B. Services Unlimited for Tom Kesner, 2006 Brazos, reroof; Butch Malone for R.C. Wiley, 616 W. Cameron, remodel, carport; Tom Fisher, 207 Josie, storage building;

Tiffany Galvan, 2202 Vogel, windows and room addition; Parmjit Dhaliwal, 909 W. Cameron, ice machine; Colby Weise, 705 Palmer, carport; Stainless Steel Fabricator for Pizza Hut, 1212 W. Cameron, vent-a-hood; Butch Malone for Harold Reagan, 712 Middleton, reroof.

Neal Ferrell Jr., 1021 Haley, reroof; Charlie McGregor, 604 Jackson, replace fence; Warwick Construction for Dollar General, 1025 W. Cameron, new building; Justin Clayton, 619 Brandon, new siding, windows, reroof.
