Baker receives degree from Angelo State

SAN ANGELO- Rockdale resident Laura K. Baker was among 164 students to receive degrees this summer from Angelo State University. She received a bachelor of science degree during August commencement ceremonies.

She is the daughter of Jim and Brenda Baker of Rockdale.

Stevens, Magee earn degrees from SHSU

HUNTSVILLE- Local resident Chloe Gayle Stevens and Charles Dennis Magee Jr. both earned their respective degrees from Sam Houston State University during August commencement ceremonies.

Stevens, of Rockdale, was awarded a bachelor of business administration degree in management.

Magee, of Milano, earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. Sign up open for RYFL cheerleading

Rockdale Youth Football Cheerleaders are signing up for the 2009-2010 season for girls Kindergarten to sixth grade.

The $60 registration fee covers the cost of the uniform. Deadline to sighn up is Monday, Sept. 7.

Friday deadline for fall Alumni scholarships

The Milano Alumni scholarship committee is offering small scholarships for the fall 2009 semester, spokesperson Carolyn Hafley said.

"If you are a Milano graduate and have attended at least two semesters at a college or trade school, you are eligible," Hafley said. Deadline to apply is Sept. 4.
