About 500 people attended Rockdale's first jaripeo, a Mexican rodeo with bull riding and music, on Saturday at the Fair Park rodeo arena. The rodeo is in the style of cowboys from the Mexican state of San Luis Potosi and featured riders and horsemen from throughout Central Texas. The event was put on by Mario Cardona, with help from the Rockdale Roping & Cutting Club. Here, mounted cowboy Mateo Llanas of Davilla speaks with spectators in between bull riders.
