Caldwell's Kolache Festival celebrates 25 years Sept. 12

The 25th annual Kolache Festival will be held in Caldwell Saturday, Sept. 12 downtown on the courthouse square.

Opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. with Czech singing and dancing. There is no admission charge.

Throughout the day, Czech bands can be heard play ing polkas and other Czech music. Kolaches are available and Czech demonstrations can be seen along with an antique tractor show, car show and quilt show. Craft and foot vendors and a kolache eating contest will be part of the fun.

A free quilt show will be available for viewing inside the Civic Center on Highway 21 with more than 90 quilted items on display.

Creative Memories Quilt Guild of Caldwell will have its 23rd annual quilt show which runs Sept. 10-12. The show opens at noon on Thursday, closing at 6 p.m. On Friday, the show opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. Hours on Saturday are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There will be a Country Store along with raffle quilt tickets on sale at the door for $1 each.

The Kraitchar House Museum and the Czech Heritage Museum will be open during the Kolache Festival. The festival ends at 6 p.m.
