Texas Word Wrangler, fund-raiser to be held in Giddings

GIDDINGS—The fourth annual Texas Word Wrangler Festival will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Giddings Public Librar y and Cultural Center, 276 N. Orange Street in Giddings.

The "Meet the Authors" Fundraising Gala w ill be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Giddings Public Library. Call for tickets, 979-542-2716.

Known as "A Celebration of Creativity in Lee County," the festival and book signing event will feature these Texas authors: Gina Batie, Thomas Blacklock, Frank Carden, LD Clark, Robert Costelloe, R. Wayne Edwards.

A lso Debra Frontiera, Ray Grasshoff, Joyce Gustafson, Lila Guzman, Theresa M. Haak.

Also Joan Hall, Doug Hiser, R. David Hollingsworth, Bob Lawrence, Larry Locha, Jo Ann Martin, Alan Rein.

Also Tweed Scott, Charlotte Siegmund, Bob Spode, Jane Thielemann-Downs, Larry Turner, Kathy Whitehead, Dee Wilbur, Toni Womack, Charles Yates, Nelson Zoch and Mary Sue Zoch.

Authors will showcase their books throughout the day on Friday and will be available to read from their books and field questions.

There will be Hometown Hero and author luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This two-day event is sponsored by the Giddings Public Library and Cultural Center, Giddings Area Chamber of Commerce, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative and Giddings Economic Development Corporation and many businesses and individuals in the community.
