Graveside services for Ada Mae Yount, 98, of Rockdale were held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, in Minerva Cemetery with Nathan Irwin, youth minister for Muskogee (Oklahoma) Church of Christ officiating.

Mrs. Yount died Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale.

A lifelong resident of Milam County, she was born Aug. 23, 1911, in the Millerton Community near Alcoa to Rufus Luther and Ida Mae (Stephens) King.

She married Perry Harris on Nov. 25, 1948, in Georgetown and T.W. Yount on Dec. 4, 1976, in Minerva.

Mrs. Yount was a nurse for 38 years, retiring in June 1980.

She was a member of Murray St. Church of Christ in Rockdale.

Mrs. Yount attended school at Millerton and attended nursing school in Austin, Rockdale and Waco.

She was a member of Austin Chapter No. 304 Order of the Eastern Star and received her 50-year pin on Oct. 26, 1999.

Mrs. Yount was preceded in death by her first husband, Perry Harris; her second husband, T.W. Yount; three brothers, Rufus E. King, W.F. King and Clarence King; and a sister, Nancy Snodgrass.

Survivors are a sister-in-law, Julia King, and two nieces, Opal Irwin and Barbara Nelson, all of Rockdale; also, a number of great-nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens, Rockdale Christian Services Food Pantry, PAWS or Murray St. Church of Christ.
