Seasonal flu shot clinic ahead Friday at KC Hall

The Milam County Health Department is getting the jump on the flu season by offering seasonal—not H1n1—shots from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Rockdale KC Hall.

It's the first of several clinics to be scheduled in upcoming weeks for seasonal flu shots, according to Michelle Ferguson of the health department.

"Shots are free to Medicare recipients," she said. "They are $20 for others.

Beginning next week, shots will be available at the health departments offices during regular office hours (9 a.m. to 12-noon; 1 to 4:30 p.m.) Tuesdays and Thursdays in Cameron, Mondays and Thursdays in Cameron

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
