Gebhart

Services for Doris Neal Gebhart, 88, of Rockdale were held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Gilliland and Rev. Doug Springer officiating. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Gebhart died at her home on Friday, Sept. 4.

She was born July 13, 1921, in the New Salem community near Rockdale to John Byron and Ruth (Hollowell) Neal

She married Henr y James Gebhar t on July 6, 1938, in Georgetown.

Mrs. Gebhart was a lifelong Rockdale resident and attended and graduated from Rockdale High School.

She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and the New Salem Home Demonstration Club.

Mrs. Gebhart started work for Rockdale ISD in 1952 in the lunchroom. She retired after 30- plus years as the supervisor of Rockdale ISD lunchrooms.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry James "Jim" Gebhart; two sons, Johnny Gebhart and Jimmy Gebhart; an infant daughter; and a sister, Evelyn Weiser.

Sur v ivors are a daughter, Linda Gebhart Kessler and husband Peter; a brother, Wayne Neal and wife Ann; a sister, Inez Walker; five grandchildren, Donal W. Key Jr., David B. Key, Jeff R. Gebhart, Jason Gebhart and wife Sonny and Jenny L. Frei; and four great-grandchildren, Hali E. Key, Kali E. Key, Maci N. Key and Courtney P. Gebhart.

Pallbearers were Gary Walker, Gary Gebhart, Keith Walker, Kyle Walker, Nic Hammett, Cale Hammett, Jonathon Muston and Mark Muston.
