Steady freshmen deliver victory with scoring flow

THURSDAY: The junior varsity Tigers host Marlin with the game beginning at 6 p.m. The freshman travel to Elgin with a 5:30 game time. The junior high Tigers host Marlin Thursday with the first game starting at 4:30 p.m.

L AMPASAS—The Rockdale freshmen produced a steady flow of touchdowns in securing their first victory of the season, 28-6, over Lampasas.

The Tigers (1-1) crossed paydirt in each of the four quarters, while they were able to keep the Badgers out of the end zone for the final three stanzas.

Kentrae Davis opened the scoring with an 11-yard run to make it 7-0.

Davis struck again in the second quarter with a 22-yard burst to make it 14-6 at intermission.

Ethan Brinkley opened the scoring in the second half with a six-yard burst to increase the score to 21-6.

Juan Hernandez closed out the Tiger scoring with a 20-yard scamper to make the final 28-6.

Noe Zelaya was perfect on extra points.

According to coaches, Brinkley, Hernandez, Davis, Excell Nelson, Josh Frei, Markus Hayes and Andrew Jenkins were the standouts. Rockdale 7 7 7 7—28 Lampasas 6 0 0 0— 6

Junior varsity

The Tigers fell behind 35-0 and could not play catch up in a 48-13 loss to Lampasas and now stand 0-1-1 on the young season.

Trailing 35-0 in the third quarter, Miguel Alonzo produced the Tigers first score after taking in a 40-yard pass from quarterback Dillon Goodman.

Anthony Fisher added a score in the fourth quarter after breaking loose on a 38-yard touchdown.
