Madeline Jones, daughter of Jeff and Jimann Jones of Milano, and her miniature horse, Diamond Oaks Classic Cash (nicknamed Cash), brought back five Top 10 ribbons from the American Miniature Horse Registry National Competition held Sept. 9-13 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Cash and Madeline placed eighth in country pleasure driving, ninth in roadster and 10th in showmanship, jumper and versatility. Competition youth classes had 30 or more horses each and there were close to 1,500 horses in the national show. The national event will run through Sept. 19

This was the duo's first trip to nationals and Cash's first year to compete.

Madeline also showed the horse Stormy Acres Apache Angel at nationals for Margaret Cravens of George West. They earned third in the halter obstacle course and fifth in western country pleasure driving.

A freshman at Milano High School, Madeline is the granddaughter of Steve and Becky Jones of Milano and Jim and Jeanette Peed of Deanville.
