Gospel Fest, tractor pull, garage sale all happening downtown on Saturday

Downtown Milano will be busy on Saturday with the Ladies Auxiliary garage sale, Fall Fest, Jamboree and Gospel Fest all going on.

The Milano Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary fall garage sale is Sept. 24-26 at the Milano Civic Center. The ladies are still taking donations. For more information call Jane Yoakum at 512-446-5110. The sale is Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Fall Fest is Saturday and will include a mini-rod tractor pull starting at noon across from the Civic Center sponsored by the Modified Tractor Pullers Association along with the City of Milano. For more information check out the website, www. tmtpa.com. Milano VFD will sell sausage wraps, cold drinks and water at the fire department.

Milano First Baptist Church's annual Gospel Fest will start at

p.m. behind the church with a free community meal to begin at 5:30 p.m. The Milano Jamboree will be at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center.

The Milano High School National Honor Society will sponsor a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28 at the high school.

Milano Elementary Fall Festival is scheduled for 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at the elementary school. There will be games, train rides and much more for the whole family. I will have more on this next week.

The Milam Count y Health Department will have a flu shot clinic from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the Milano Civic Center. The health department along with Standards of Care Home Health will be conducting the clinic. There will be charge of $20 for the shot, but there will be no charge if you are on Medicare.

JoA nn, Carroll and Shawn Davidson were in Midland over the weekend to visit with son Kirkland and family and to also attend a bridal shower for grandson Cody and his future wife, Sarah Sparks. Cody is also the grandson of Jean Inman of Beaver Creek. Cody and Sarah will wed on Oct. 17 in New Braunfels.

Congratulations to the Milano varsity football team on its win over Giddings State School. The Eagles will travel on Friday to play Bryan-St. Joseph's at 7:30 p.m.

The high school volleyball teams will play in Mumford on Friday with games starting at 4 p.m and then host Buckholts on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The junior high teams will host Calvert on Sept. 28.

The cross country team will run in Gatesville on Friday, Sept. 25 and at Cameron on Sept. 28.
