Homecoming parade downtown Oct. 7th

Thorndale approves tax rate and budget
THORNDALE—City council members in Thorndale met last Wednesday and okayed a tax rate and budget for 2009-10. The 85-cent tax rate is the same as the current rate. The tax rate will support a $1,213,000 budget. Council members approved purchase of a Volvo backhoe with funding from both the 2008-09 ad 2009-10 budgets. Full Story
Magee wins top prize in RVFD's giveaway
John Magee of Rockdale won the $5,000 gift card first prize Saturday as the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department held its annual casino night at the KC Hall. Herbie Vaughan, RVFD spokesman, said Brian Wallis won a $500 gift card and that the other three prizes, $200, $300 and $1,000 gift cards were donated back to the fire department. Full Story

Black Jack VFD sets ice cream social Tuesday

City flushing lines during October 14th
