Cameron mayor writes thanks for hospitality

Dear editor,

Well, the Battle of the Bell is over and it looks like the bell will be tolling for the Tigers for the next year.

It was obvious that your team is loaded with talent, particularly in that big and powerful line. I suspect we might see them go deep into the playoffs again this year. Best of luck to you.

I know I'm speaking for all of us on the Cameron city council, city staff, and school board when I say thank you to Mayor John Shoemake, Mayor Pro Tem Allan Miller, City Manager Kelvin Knauf, School Superintendent Dr. Howell Wright, and all the members of the Rockdale city council, city staff, and school board for rolling out the red carpet for us from Cameron. The tailgate party that you held for us before the game Friday night was second to none.

Competition on the field of play w ill always be intense, but friendship and cooperation between our towns is so much more important as we live and work together to make Milam County a better place to live.

Thanks again, Dave Barkemeyer Mayor of Cameron 308 S. Houston Ave. Cameron
