O-kay! 5K grosses 8K for the Kay
Tomek overall race winner as 139 compete
The fourth annual Kay Theatre 5K Run/Unrun grossed $8,000 toward restoration of the Rockdale landmark as 139 persons participated in the event Saturday. That means the event has raised about $40,000 in its four-year history. The previous three runs netted a combined $35,000. Full Story

Shawn and Michelle Sanders of Troy announce the birth of their daughter, Alyssa Nicole Sanders, on Sept. 16, 2009, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 19 inches long. Alyssa was welcomed by a brother, Dallas Sanders of Troy. Older adults are prescribed more medications than any other age group. An estimated 30 percent of the prescription drugs are taken by 12 percent of the population (people over the age of 65). Milano's 'Fall Fest' draws crowds to downtown

Our small city was overflowing with friends, family and out-of-towners enjoying all of the many events going on over the weekend. The Gospel Fest was a blessing to our town. Archaeology month touted with events
School program, courthouse tours slated to stoke interest
Plans are under way in Milam County to celebrate October as Archeology Month, according to an announcement by Judith Slusher, chair of the Archeology Committee tor the Milam County Historical Commission.
