Boil water notice issued for Rockdale

The City of Rockdale announced Wednesday that residents should boil their water until at least Thursday afternoon.  The city's water treatment plant lost power on its main distribution line.  Cases of low water pressure have been reported.  Samples have been sent to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to be tested and those results should be back Thursday afternoon.  Rockdale customers should continue to boil all water for consumption until results are back deeming the water safe.  Water for consumption should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil for two minutes.  Water for ice should also be boiled, then cooled.
