Race to replace Gattis getting more crowded

Next March's Republican primary to replace District 20 State Representative Dan Gattis is becoming more crowded.

Two more candidates entered the field last week.

Charles Schwertner, an orthopedic surgeon and Georgetown resident is managing partner and resident physician of Georgetown Orthopedics PLLC.

Stephen Thomas of Cedar Park has resigned his city council position in that city to seek the state representative post.

Two weeks ago, Milton Rister of Georgetown, former executive director of the Republican Party of Texas announced he would be a candidate.

Gattis is seeking the State Senator District 5 seat being vacated by Steve Ogden.
