Stauffer

Brian Conrad Stauffer, 30, of Rockdale, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, in an automobile accident on FM 908.

Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at St. John's United Methodist Church with Rev. John Warren officiating.

Mr. Stauffer was born Sept. 2, 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Evelyn Pearson Woodward and Larry Stauffer.

He was the owner of Diversified Construction Group Inc., a general contracting company headquartered in Rockdale, and was engaged in construction activities throughout Central Texas.

A 1998 graduate of Rockdale High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Mississippi, Mr. Stauffer earned a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in Spanish, and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

Mr. Stauffer also attended school in Spain and Costa Rica to study Spanish.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Rockdale.

An avid sportsman, he enjoyed the company of his friends, especially while hunting and fishing on the family's property along the San Gabriel River. His outgoing personality, energy and enthusiasm will be long-remembered by all who knew him.

Mr. Stauffer was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lillian and W.T. Pearson Jr.; his paternal grandmother, Artie Stauffer; and his stepfather, Fred Peebles Woodward.

Sur v ivors are his mother, Evelyn Pearson Woodward of Rockdale; his father and stepmother, Larry and Sarah Stauffer of Athens; his fiancee, Jenny Jones of Rockdale; his paternal grandfather, Norman Stauffer of Taylor; a sister, Robin Stauffer Silvey; a brother, Todd Christian Stauffer and fiancée Ann Beaven; a stepbrother, Jason Shand of Baltimore, Maryland; two stepsisters, Kelley Shand of Austin, Ashley Dugas and husband Clifton of Dallas; two nephews, Zachari Blake Stauffer and Caden Shane Silvey; a niece, Aubrey Anne Zintec; an aunt and uncle, Lucy and W.T. (Billy) Pearson IV of Kerrville; and four cousins, Emily, Heather, Jennifer and Michelle, their spouses and children.

Pallbearers were Blade Bassler, Brooks Bassler, Jason Montgomer y, Chris Menefee, Seth Montgomery, John Redington, Eric Robinson, Shane Silvey, Clayton Starnes, Jason Shand, Josh Treadway.

Honorary pallbearers are John Eggling, Jake Menefee, Louis Parchman, Casey Stanislaw, Jason Starnes, Scott Starnes, Zachari Stauffer and James Woodward.
