Richardson

Funeral services for Erma Jean Richardson, 83, of Rockdale will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Fairview Cemetery Pavilion in Gainesville with Rev. Jim Bowden officiating.

Mrs. Richardson died Monday, Oct. 5, in a Bryan hospital.

A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she was born in the Spring Creek community of Cooke County to Odes Frank and Erma Modene (Aughtry) Fellers.

She married Charles Richardson on May 11, 1946, in Gainesville and he preceded her in death in 2007.

Mrs. Richardson had worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell for many years.

She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Mrs. Richardson was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Fellers; and a son-in-law, Bob Shelton.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Richardson and wife Kay of Rockdale, Tim Richardson of Roanoke; a daughter, Linda Shelton of Denison; a brother Odes Sidney Fellers of Dallas; six grandchildren, Michael Richardson, Robert Shelton, Lindsay Shelton, Tyler Richardson, Kari Bersano and Lance Clark; and seven great-grandchildren, Adeline and Hayes Shelton, Lauren, Andrew and Lindsey Bersano, Logan Clark and Connor Batton.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
