County okays Rockdale election help
CA MERON—Milam County commissioners on Tuesday okayed a contract with the City of Rockdale for electronic voting machines to be used in the Jan. 9 special city council election.
That election is for the west ward seat recently vacated by Griffin Rogers.
Three Rockdale residents were appointed the Milam County Child Protective Services board by commissioners. They are Denice Doss, Joyce Dalley and Monique Gebhart.
Lynne Hornung of Rockdale was also appointed.
In other business, commissioners:
• Approved a mutual non-disclosure agreement with McLane Technologies.
• Accepted the resignation of Tom Jones as early voting alternate judge and appointed Mona Simecek to that post.
• Okayed deputation of Deputy District Clerk Michelle Hubnik and accepted a certificate of achievement for Jodi Morgan, deputy county clerk.
• Okayed the 2010 Milam County Indigent Defense Program. County Auditor Jeanie Hrozek told the court the county would receive a $16,540 refund.
