CAMERON-The tragedy that happened at Fort Hood on Thursday afternoon has hit close to home. Mike Cahill, of Cameron, is one of the 13 victims from what is being called the largest shooting at a U.S. military base in history.

Metal price still long way from Alcoa restart hopes
The annual report on emissions and the periodic update on aluminum production were discussed when the Community Advisory Panel to Alcoa (Rockdale Operations)— CAPARO— met in Taylor in October. The status report showed the price of aluminum has risen from the $1,300 per metric ton rate, which was a factor in the curtailment of production, to $1,870 on Tuesday. Full Story
