4-H'ers head to national, state events

Cooper Smith plans to attend the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. over the Thanksgiving holidays. This great educational opportunity was made possible by his first place finish on his 4-H Shooting Sports record book.

His trip is partially funded, but he has $800 to make up to participate. He is a member of Cameron 4-H and the son of Mark and LeeAnn Smith.

Also, a senior decision making team placed first at the State 4- H Roundup last June and that honor qualifies this quartet of ladies to attend thee national contest Jan. 6-10 in Denver, Colorado.

Erin Bradley, Kayleigh Farek, Kristian Lee and Elaine Luckey will take part in this once-in-alifetime opportunity to match their skills against others from across the nation. They are the only team from Texas to qualify. These girls could also use financial assistance to attend the conference and estimated cost is $800 each.

Kayleigh Farek, Rockdale 4-H, is the daughter of Marvin and Laritha Farek. Elaine Luckey, Rockdale 4-H, is the daughter of Paul and Rebecca Luckey.

Erin Bradley, Cameron 4-H, is the daughter of Carl and Melissa Bradley. A nd K ristian Lee, Gause 4-H, is the daughter of Kimberly Lee and Lance Lee.

—4-H— Milam 4-H awards banquet is Sunday

Sunday, Nov. 8 is more than a 4-H Awards banquet — it will be a celebration of 4-H'ers going the extra mile to make a difference. An awesome evening will take place as we recognize 4-H members, leaders, and sponsors for their accomplishments.

All 4-H families are invited to attend banquet at the K.C. Hall in Rockdale. A potluck meal will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the awards presentation.

Families are all asked to bring their favorite meat, vegetable and dessert to add to the supper. This event is open to all family members.
