Wildflower seeding Friday at Ledbetter

CAMERON—Flo Oxle director of education at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, will lead a program on "Wildflower Meadows" and a seed spreading from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Nov 6 at Ledbetter Park, off FM 1600 in Cameron, according to Debbie Harris, Milam County Master Gardener.

Oxley will have information on how to create a wildf lower meadow, Harris said, then the group will spread seeds. The project will help prepare the area for the 2010 Nature Festival, in planning by the El Camino Real Master Naturalists.

Master gardeners and naturalists can earn one hour of advanced training and one hour of volunteer time. There is no cost.

"Those pitching in should bring a rake, hand shovel and a lawn chair," Harris said.
