Aggravated assault arrest expected on Wednesday

A 34-year-pold Rockdale man was scheduled to turn himself in Wednesday to face charges of aggravated assault and violation of a protective order in connecton with incidents in which his family was threatened.

Police Chief Thomas Harris said Carmen Lopez had originally been charged with injury to a child in connection with an incident involving Lopez's sixyear old son.

Harris said a protective order was issued in connection with that charge.

It's alleged the subject violated the protective order by returnng to the home.

"During that incident it is alleged a knife was held to the wife's throat and threats were made against the entire family," Harris said.

A warrant was then issued for Lopez's arrest.

Harris said none of the family members were seriously injured.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
