Downtown parade will celebrate 'differences'

A "Dignit y of Dif ferences" parade is scheduled in downtown Rockdale at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, according to Kate Wedeikes, spokesperson.

Wedeikes said the parade is sponsored by the Milam County Democratic HQ 11 Club.

That club is not part of the Milam County Democratic Party.

Wedeikes said the parade is in conjunction with the Million Man March, which was held in 1995.

"The parade will honor our African-Americans veterans and community," Wedeikes, said.

Lineup will be at 10:45 a.m. at Bell's Place and will end at Wolf Park, corner of Milam and Main where several speakers will make addresses, she said.

Wedeikes termed the parade a "historical event" and said it will be available on DVD.
