Hatcher named DFW assistant of the week

Hatcher Hatcher Donald Hatcher of DeSoto, a 1999 graduate of RHS, was named the assistant head coach of the week in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area by KXAS Channel 5.

Hatcher is the assistant head coach for defensive backs and special teams as well as the academic c oord i nator for DeSoto.

The Eagles are currently 8-1 and ranked No. 9 in the Associated Press poll and are also ranked among the top 50 teams in the country by ESPN.

After graduating from RHS, Hatcher attended Blinn and then Stephen F. Austin.

Hatcher then joined current DeSoto coach Claude Mathis at Somerville, then followed him to LBJ before landing at DeSoto, a Class 5A school near Dallas.

Hatcher is the son of Buddy and Kathy Hatcher of Rockdale.
