A 62-year-old Cameron man, who had only recently returned to work at Fort Hood after a hear t attack, was one of 13 persons killed Thursday, Nov. 5, in the shooting rampage on the base. Full Story

Veterans were, and still are, there for us
This Veteran's Day week should remind us all of the sacrifices that our veterans have made to keep us free. My father was in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Last week, dad was at the VA Hospital in Temple and there was a young soldier there. Dad went to the soldier, shook his hand and told him thank you for serving. Full Story
RHS GETS $750 GRANT
RHS GETS $750 GRANT Rockdale High School has received a $750 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance. Dan Graves (R), co-owner of the Duchess Double Kwik convenience stores made the presentation last week to Chad Jones, RHS principal. Jones and Stephen Vickers are co-owners of the Duchess Double Kwiks. Graves said the grant is one of 2,400 nationwide available to schools who are served by Exxon or Mobil stations. Full Story
