Foot chase in Milam nabs suspect for Temple police

A Milam County deputy sheriff chased down a suspect wanted by the Temple Police Department on foot Thursday.

Christopher Sims was apprehended by Deputy Doug Smith after Milam County was alerted by Temple Police.

Deputy Chris White said Temple police advised that the suspect, wanted in an aggravated assault investigation, was believed to be in Cameron.

White located the suspect's vehicle in the 900 block of Travis about 9:15 a.m. and initiated a traffic stop.

"The suspect fled on foot with Deputy Smith in pursuit," White said. "He was apprehended after a three-block chase."

Bond was set at $200,000 and Sims was held for Temple investigators.
